audio design

Sound, soundtracks, sound collage...music in motion.....

I create sample-based compositions using obscure elements such as found sound, abandoned record albums, old-time radio shows, American history recordings...

surreptitious guerilla field recordings made on my handHeld, public domain multimedia, and more....

...then I write new arrangements and musical parts on the bass, cello, guitar, keys, vocals and computer.

These are sound beds created to evoke moods, textures, places - and a sense of motion.

Some were created just as music; some were written to accompany video.

influences

I've had a lot of recording projects over the years: as a professor, teaching intro and advanced industry standards; as a musician leading bands, writing music in a variety of styles: rock & roll, power pop, exotica & lounge, old (pre-1960s) country; soundtrack, etc.....
